Last night I was transported back to 1950s Detroit for the premiere screening of HBOmax’s No Sudden Move, a crime drama staring Don Cheadle and Benicio del Toro. This was the first showing of the movie other than at the Tribeca Film Festival and the entire experience gave me life!

If anyone came expecting to see only a movie, then they were in for a big surprise! There were so many goodies and things to experience, that I couldn’t keep up! First of all, the premier was at the drive-in, so that alone was cool and lends itself to lots of space and opportunity to create a truly engaging experience!

Upon entry, we were greeted with a nice gift bag full of dope items like a cool shinola notebook, candy and more! Then immediately after parking the car, servers dressed as carhops from the 1950’s provided us with a tray of treats including coney dogs, mcclurespickles chips, peteetscheesecakes superman cookies, towneclubpop pop (aka “soda” lol) and water.

Now it was time to get out of the car and explore more! There was music, authentic vintage car installations, a display of costumes from the movie and my fav, a GQ/Vanity Fair photo experience!! Guests received all of this before the movie even started!

When it was time for the movie to start, I able to sit back, relax and enjoy!😌 I have to send a big shout out to tatianadgrant for all the work she put in to make this event a success! The rain held out just for this! 🙌🏾 No Sudden Move streams July 1st on HBOmax! Thank you to hbomax nosuddenmove and everyone involved for #givinmelife 🤗🎥🍿
