Throw back to when I planned a going away dinner for my friend and colleague who was moving out of state to start a new job. She was on her way to live out her passion, so I had to make sure to send her off right!  We all enjoyed a nice dinner at pinkysroyaloak. I decided to decorate with candy and lemons to match the bitter sweet theme. I placed lollipops and suckers all around the table and created center pieces out of lemon filled bowls. I had the invites printed and placed in frames and at each place setting. I also made little candy filled party favors for guests to leave with. Since the guest of honor was about to begin a new journey in a whole new city, I wanted everyone to leave her with advice and words of wisdom, but wanted this to be done in a creative way so I decided to make a glass of lemonade that she could take with her. However, this was not your average glass of lemonade, but a special one. I bought a jar and a note pad with a lemon design on each page. I labeled the jar lemonade and distributed the sheets from the notepad for guests to write their words of wisdom. I then asked them to place their notes in the jar so that whenever life gave the guest of honor lemons she could make lemonade! Lastly, I added a straw to the glass for one last cute touch. You know what makes this even better? The fact that I did all of this on a very small budget. I believe that with a little creativity, a little can go a long way.
