Meet Jackie, our Patient Warrior award winner at Miles for Migraine Cleveland. Jackie shared a bit of her perspective on the importance of finding migraine community and a support network.

"Initially, my neurologist did not understand all of my symptoms as they weren’t all “classic" migraine symptoms so I was told anxiety was causing them. I felt alone. My friends and family didn’t really understand  what was happening or what I was going through. I had so much anger and grief.

In October of 2021 I went looking for a support group. I found Miles for Migraine and it was life-changing. I found acceptance and understanding with strangers that I didn’t have with my loved ones or even myself. I found out I was in fact, not crazy. I felt validated. Attending my Miles for Migraine support group helped me to accept my new reality and find a measure of peace."
