Grillology 101: how to light your coals 🔥

1️⃣ THE BURNOUT: use a high quality fire starter. Light it and place it in the middle of your charcoal. Let it burn out completely. A handful of charcoal should be lit. Let smoker come to temp. You’re good to smoke. 
2️⃣ THE SNAKE: Lineup your briquettes in a row of 2 or three briquettes, snaked around the edge of your kettle/charcoal basket. Light a couple briquettes on one end and the burn will slowly snake around. Close smoker and let coke to to temp. 
3️⃣ MINION METHOD: fill your charcoal basket full. Remove a handful of 5-8 briquettes from the center. Place the handful of charcoal into a chimney and light. Once they are lit and white all over, pour lit coals back into center of charcoal basket. Let smoker come to temperate and it’s on!
