Meet Allie Elliott, an NYRR member and #AchillesInternational volunteer guide runner who became involved with New York Road Runners after moving to New York in 2021 and watching the #TCSNYCMarathon.

“NYRR has been a great avenue for me to not only reach my running goals, but also find a community of runners in NYC that share the same goals as I do.”

While cheering on runners at the marathon, Allie said she saw multiple yellow Achilles guide shirts alongside Achilles athletes and said she knew immediately that was something she wanted to do to share her love of running. As a volunteer guide runner, she’s paired with an Achilles athlete for workouts every Saturday and recently guided a youth athlete at the Achilles Hope & Possibility 4M Presented by TD Bank in June. 

“Seeing the joy of these athletes completing a bigger goal, enjoying time outside, and heading towards a finish line week after week has broadened my perspective on running and what it means to be an athlete.”

Allie looks forward to running this year’s TCS New York City Marathon on November 5 as a part of the Achilles Kids team. 🥳🗽
