We are excited to have Kevin Hegarty as a coach for the Girls Juniors Open. Coach Hegarty is the founder and president of Tradition Lacrosse. Tradition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, managed and led by unpaid community volunteers to develop girls' character playing lacrosse. Kevin has coached multiple teams for many years including Tradition Lacrosse, Garden City Rams Lacrosse, Garden City Thunder Football, and Garden City Centennials Soccer.
At the United States Military Academy (Army), Kevin was the captain of the lacrosse team, he earned All Patriot League Honors for three years, and was selected to play in the North-South College All Star Game his senior year. Upon graduation Kevin was #5 all time in ground balls with 189 in his career. Kevin helped lead his team to three Patriot League Championships and a birth in the NCAA tournament.

Kevin remained at Army and was the graduate assistant coach with Hall Fame Coach Jack Emmer. After West Point, he continued to play lacrosse at various duty stations including club lacrosse for the Capital Club in Washington D.C. Kevin also was an assistant boys lacrosse coach of Robinson High School in Fairfax, VA. While coaching Robinson, they won the state championship.
