NEWS! 🚨 Southeast Missouri Head Men's Basketball Coach Brad Korn agreed to a four-year contract extension through the 2026-27 season, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Brady Barke announced Wednesday.
 
Korn's new contract will run through April 30, 2027.
 
"Brad has done a great job rebuilding our men's basketball program and creating a positive culture," said Barke. "He has restored interest and excitement in our program again and I'm confident the program will continue to grow under his leadership."
 
SEMO finished its 2022-23 campaign at 19-17 overall and 10-8 in Ohio Valley Conference play, winning the OVC Tournament title and making the NCAA Tournament for the first time in over two decades.
 
The Redhawks became the first #5 seed in OVC Tournament history to win the event and did so by winning four games in four days. Along the way, SEMO ousted the top two seeds (#1 Morehead State, #2 Tennessee Tech) to become the first team to punch its ticket in the 2022-23 NCAA Tournament field.
 
SEMO snapped a streak of eight-straight losing seasons by posting both overall and OVC winning records in a season for the first time since 2004-05 (15-14, 9-7 OVC). The 10 conference wins were the Redhawks most in since 1999-2000 (14-4), the other year they won the OVC Tournament.
 
In just his third year as a head coach, Korn led the Redhawks to their OVC Tournament crown. Now, every current head coach at SEMO can say they won at least one OVC championship in their career.

"We are humbled and blessed to build on last year's success and into the future. We have worked hard to make everyone proud of this program as we continue to reach new heights. Many thanks to all our former players and staff for helping lay the foundation for these dreams to come true."
