We’re less than a month out from the start of the new academic year. As another team is formed, juniors, seniors and fifth years step into unfamiliar roles and new leaders emerge. Quite frankly, these leadership opportunities may be the greatest gift our sport has to offer. 

Those who keep the standards high, hold others accountable and do whatever is necessary for the success of the TEAM become the backbone of the program and are remembered for years to come. It’s sometimes messy and rarely comfortable but the value of true leadership cannot be overstated.
