In addition to the 5 Cal South alumni on the U.S. Women’s National Team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Cal South has even more alumni on a couple of other National Teams at the event. In addition to Ali Riley starring as captain of the New Zealand Women’s National Team, Cal South has an additional 5 alumni on the Philippines Women’s National Team: Olivia McDaniel, Chandler McDaniel, Quinley Quezada, Kiara Fontanilla, and Kaiya Jota.

On July 25th, the Philippines stunned New Zealand in their opening match of the World Cup with a 1-0 shutout, and Cal South's Olivia McDaniel was one of the big heroes on the day.
