Football Highlights
Mike Matthews

Mike Matthews is the current number one recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2024 football recruiting class and might be the best athlete in the country. Listed as an ATH on all recruiting services the junior has every offer from A to Z. Matthews is projected to be a power 5 starter. 247Sports analysis: "A talented two-way athlete with elite ball skills that some college scouts view as a wide receiver at the next level while others project as a safety. Has a basketball background (father played overseas) and actually reports a hoops offer from Mississippi State. Posted a triple-double as a sophomore and is capable of dropping 20 points any given night on the hardwood. Should be viewed as one of the top perimeter players in the class of 2024. Offensive production on Friday nights (476 receiving yards, seven touchdowns as a sophomore in the Peach State’s highest classification) suggests that his future might be catching passes and not defending them, but back-seven defenders that can slow down high-powered offensive passing attacks are only getting more and more valuable in this era of football. NFL upside.
