maxloew_ shows us his timelapse technique with a Sony Alpha 1:

"1. Fix your camera to a tripod or in a stable position.
2. Put your camera in either Aperture or Shutter priority mode. This will allow the camera to auto adjust either the shutter or the aperture to keep the same exposure level you set. (You can also do this in manual mode and adjust the exposure yourself during the timelapse)
2. Navigate in the menu to interval shoot function (menu -> shooting -> Drive Mode -> interval shoot function). Toggle interval shooting to on.
3. Set your start time, interval, and how many shots you want it to take.
4.  Double check your focus and make sure your shot is correctly composed.
5. Hit the shutter button and the camera will automatically run a timelapse for you!"
