The Food and Drug Administration on Friday approved Zurzuvae, a pill specifically intended to treat severe depression related to childbirth or pregnancy. Dr. Samantha Meltzer-Brody, the director for UNC’s Center for Women’s Mood Disorders, says postpartum depression is potentially devastating and needs to be taken very seriously.
