This is the Auyu People, one of Indonesia’s ethnic groups, who are based in the remote forests of West Papua, close to the border of Papua New Guinea. To the Auyu, the forest is like an ‘eternal bank account’. It provides for their every need - from food and medicine to their traditional clothing and building materials.

But their land and way of life is under threat from a Malaysian-owned palm oil company that want to clear tens of thousands of hectares of West Papuan forest. But the Auyu People will not give up. That's why they are using the court system to revoke the permit and fight for their forest homes.
