## Caption

Issue 1, the only item on Ohio’s Aug. 8 special election ballot, has failed. It proposed the following:

-60% of eligible voters would have been required to vote on any amendment to the constitution, as opposed to the current simple majority.
-Ballot measure campaigns would have been required to collect signatures from all 88 Ohio counties, instead of the current 44.
-It would have removed campaigns' typical cure period to collect additional signatures if an initial petition's number of valid signatures was not reached.
