(Part 4 / 4) Madalitso is now about to start his second year of high school through the sponsorship offered as part of our 'Education Is Power’ program.

When asked where he sees himself in the next 5 years, Madalitso emphasizes that he wants to pursue a college degree. “It’s very important that I finish secondary school. I know this will open doors for me to get into college and once I get into college, the opportunities are endless.  I want to be able to take care of my grandmother who has always been there for me. Eventually, I also want to give back to my community by paying fees for other needy students.” 

And Madalitso’s grandmother, who dropped out of school in grade 5, is very proud to watch him succeed. “Education is a person’s future. It is a key to a life without struggle. I don’t want Madalitso to wait for handouts but to fend for himself. I want him to be able to stand on his own two feet and be happy,” she explained.
