## Caption

Photographer David Keljo, of Redmond, Wash., captured a large pod of brown pelicans at the north end of Cannon Beach by Bird Rocks with Ecola State Park in the background last June.

Oregon has two species of pelicans, the American white and the brown. The brown can commonly be found in large flocks along Oregon’s coastline between Spring and Fall. They’re often joined by a variety of other birds seeking schools of small fish.
