IMAGINE: you’re in the Andes Mountains, trekking to one of the 7 Wonders of the World 🇵🇪.

This was Day 1 of our 5 day trek to Machu Picchu—Peru quickly took our breath away!  Literally and figuratively 🤩😮‍💨.

Would you like to visit this dream lake? Tips ⬇️:

📍Humantay Lake is situated at 14,000 feet 😮 (4,200 meters)—It’s highly recommended to spend at least 2 - 3 days in nearby Cusco, to acclimate your body. 
•
🥾 This is a stop on the ‘Salkantay Trek’, which is an awesome alternative to the famous Inca Trail. 
•
…🙋🏻‍♀️ Humantay Lake was actually the main reason we chose the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu! 
•
📝 : You can also experience Humantay as part of a day trip from Cusco, however, we can only imagine that would be a very long day in the car! AND, you’ll likely arrive with the bulk of the day time crowds…

WHAT WE LEARNED: by doing a multi-day trek you’ll likely reach this famous lake after the crowds depart. After a gorgeous hike, we enjoyed the teal lake and white capped mountains, seemingly to ourselves 🤩. 
•
