## Caption

Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail encapsulates the infinitely changing palette of the Black Baccara rose. In sunlight, its velvet-like petals possess a red pearlescent shimmer. In shade, they read as black.

The lustrous and complex True Love exterior paint captures this colour-changing quality. In a completely new paint process, a base coat was followed by five layers of clear lacquer, each blended with a slightly different red tone to achieve the rose’s rich variation.
