The Magic Makers
February 24th 2021 I took a life changing and career-altering gamble on myself by flying out to interview some pro athletes at a little pandemic meet in Texas. Since then I knew that all I wanted to do was show the world how captivating Track and Field can be.

When I found out about the Magic Boost a program being offered by HaywardMagic and citiusmag a few months later, I applied very over-confidently and very under-prepared. I did not get the call back.
Over the next year, I made it my mission to spend every dollar I was earning working nightshifts at a children’s hospital in Ohio traveling to track meets around the US in my questionably reliable 2007 Kia Rio5, sleeping in said car in NYC, walking 4 miles one way with 40 pounds of gear late at night in PDX just to get back to the couch I was crashing on because I couldn’t afford an Uber etc, etc, all to bring this crazy stupid and selfish dream to life.

A year later, Magic Boost was scouting for its 2nd cohort and I knew that this was my time. Over the past year +, I’ve had the privilege to learn from leaders across every corner of the sport and have gainer mentors that share an altruistic goal of watching my friends and I succeed in succeeding. I’m grateful to be a part of The Magic boost once more for 2023 but the goal stays the same: #ShowUpForTheSport
