Does anyone else secretly love airplane food? 👀There is, indeed, something oddly  comforting about the perfectly proportioned, largely bland airplane meal… but in today’s in-flux world of air travel, plane food has become equally variable. Depending on your airtime and airline, it can be anything from dismal for-purchase snacks to more elaborate, three-course meals. ⁠

To get a sense of how we got here, we took a deep dive into the history of the airplane meal—from its debut on a flight from London to Paris in 1919 to how the quality of in-flight dining has changed over time. ⁠
