Error 404. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, those Atlanta kits had a hell of a debut. With both teams tied in the standings, this semi-rivalry between ATL and Nashville promised to give us a Saturday night to remember. The hosts — dripped out in neon from head to toe — made sure everyone had a good time at their spot. 4-0 thrashing at the Benz to take us back to the club’s golden years. Thiago Almada led the party to the tune of two assists and a goal, giving us flashes of his fellow Argentine WC champion. It was vintage Atlanta United at every turn. Closed roof, heavy metal goals, and wide scoreline. Nashville malfunctioning and dismantled on the evening. This new face from Atlanta after the Leagues Cup is a promising one, and they now pull away from the lower playoff positions. The throwback jersey might just mark a return to their best times. Only time will tell.
