That’s a Steinway & Sons grand piano on a flatbed trailer, hauled by a midsize SUV. On Tuesday morning, it took off from Carnegie Mellon University’s campus en route to eight locations over 12 hours, bringing with it a cast of talented performers and a chance to play one of the grande dames of the piano world.
