Valentino, a Linnaeus's two-toed sloth, gets a snack after receiving his five-month checkup at the National Aviary (@national_aviary) on Thursday.
Some fun facts:
- The Aviary got Valentino around Valentine's Day, hence his name (though he was born on Halloween)
- Valentino gets pieces of eggs as a snack since that's what sloths would eat in the wild
- While he currently weighs about 3 lbs., Valentino is expected to grow and weigh to be about 15 to 20 lbs.
