🌲A little good news for your Thursday: As of today, all of California's National Forests have reopened ahead of schedule — except for five which remain closed due to fire risk.

🌲The National Forests were closed back on Aug. 31 as the #CaldorFire (now 71% contained) raged in the Sierra and dangerous fire conditions prevailed around the state. The closure happened just before the Labor Day weekend — a time when many holiday visitors traditionally visit the National Forests. (Maybe you were one of them.)

🌲Almost all of California's National Forests have now reopened, two days ahead of the previously scheduled date of Sept. 17.

🌲Why did the Forest Service reopen these forests early? "Some factors are more favorable now, which is why I decided to end the regional closure order," said Regional Forester Jennifer Eberlien in a statement. "I want to thank the public and our partners for their patience and understanding during these challenging times."

🗣TELL US: Are you planning to now visit one of the National Forests?
