Instagram - @MakoSports Business Inquiry's - tjstro@gmail.com 2 Custom Traditional Pockets for Joe Walters So a few weeks ago PLL all star Joe Walters reached out to me with a request for stringing up a few traditional pockets Obviously I said yes, so let's do a little break down of these 2 heads. First up is a Maverik Tactik 2.0 Strung up with a 5d classic pocket. It uses laxroom oil treated leathers, with white cross lace, sidewall, and shooters. So why oil treated leathers,well firstly the color looks amazing. It's slightly darker than a typical brown leather and contrasts really well with white strings. Being oil treated they are also weather resistant, Lastly these oil treated leathers are on the stiffer side. Which will keep the whip manageable Laxroom has these priced to sell at $10 for a pack of 4 so it's a no brainer. 5D diamond pockets are very difficult to string due to the fact that the spacing and tension has to be nearly perfect. But if you master the balance between the 2, you are left with a pocket that sits pretty high on the whip scale while also having an insane amount hold and ball feel. Coming over to pocket number 2 This Tactik 2.0 is strung with a murdered out 6 diamond classic, that utilizes laxroom premium leathers. These are a more typical set of leathers, that result in more of a standard feeling pocket. These leathers stretch a lot more 9 9 ppl 9 the oil treated leathers which in turn creates a softer feeling pocket. This one has pretty good hold, and enough whip for outside shooting. It should also break in considerably quicker than the other pocket.
