## Caption

Through thickets and barbed wire I found gratitude. Nature opened its hands with leaves as slick as black ice and mud caked river banks. The hunt for the Boar opened the door to an excitement I never knew and the journey itself was the key. A mile and a half in and a mile and a half out. There was no instant gratification but rather an appreciation for the task at hand. Every hunt I’ve been on has given me a new sense of thankfulness for the food that lay before me. Each bite taste different and my belly feels more full because I know that the meal was earned. ⁣
