Welcome back Coach Ruiz❗️

From the shore of New Jersey, we welcome back Justin Ruiz to the BBL family! Justin will not only be our goalie coach for our BBL Shore goalies across all age groups but he will step into a Head Coaching role with our 2033s.

Ruiz, a recent graduate from Stockton University, helped lead the Ospreys to their first ever CSAC championship and NCAA Tournament First Round Appearance in 2019. He leaves the Ospreys with 584 saves and a .550 save percentage through 57 games as a four year starter. Ruiz also holds the Stockton school record for goals against average in a season (7.91, 2017). Ruiz finished his Stockton career ranked second in saves, fourth in goals against average and fifth in save percentage. His accomplishments earned him All-CSAC First Team accolades in 2019 as well as Skyline First Team and ECAC Second Team honors in 2017 as a freshman.

Prior to joining the BBL Shore family, Coach Ruiz was an assistant coach primarily working with goalies at Centenary University (NCAA DIII) in NJ and at Concordia University Irvine (MCLA DI) in CA. In 2021, Coach Ruiz guided his goalie at Centenary to CSAC Rookie of the Year, First Team All-CSAC accolades, and to set the school record for single-game saves with 34 saves against his former team, Stockton. In 2022, Coach Ruiz was able to coach another First Team All-Conference goalie at CUI for the Southwest Lacrosse Conference. 
 
Coach was a 2x First team All-Shore selection and was awarded first team all-decade honors by asburyparkpress.

We are excited to have Ruiz back in the rotation!
