To answer your most frequent questions: 👇🏻🧡

✨I prefer to paint on a pre-colored background than on the white canvas because I find it more easy to control the composition and the color scheme. It could be orange but also cold nuances. It mainly depends on the main color range of the future painting as I like to have a contrast with this background. Besides, in the end there might be some spots uncovered by the oil paint that will pop up like tiny colorful accents. I can use for the underpainting acrylic colors or diluted oil colors (acrylics in this video)

✨If you wonder what are the little wood pieces that I put into the stretchers… They are called tension keys or tightening keys and their purpose is to reinforce the canvas if it begins to sag.  As I paint with thick textures of oil paint, the weight of the paint could sag the canvas, so personally I prefer to introduce the keys before starting to work. But you can also do it afterwards, once the paint is dry. There are two ways of introducing them, I prefer the one shown in this video☝️ 

✨For drawing the composition I use either a Posca acrylic pen poscaoficial or I use a brush and sketch it in oils 

✨Materials used:

- For priming this canvas I used Golden fluid acrylic paint - Quinacridone/ nickel azo gold goldenpaints 
- The stretched canvas is a Gerstaecker from le_geant_des_beaux_arts 
- Oil paints: Van Gogh from royaltalensfrance
