As a lifelong player and fan, it was a humbling experience to help convene and witness Asian Pacific excellence on and off the tennis court. At Gold House, we strive to elevate voices across industries, and we’re excited to have had the opportunity to contribute to one of America’s biggest sporting occasions. 

This week, AAPITA, usta, and Gold House teamed up for the inaugural AAPI Celebration at the US Open – which also celebrated 50 years of equal prize money. One year ago, 2-time Grand Slam Champion king.vania established the aapitennisassociation (AAPITA) to develop, grow, and elevate the visibility and interests of the AAPI tennis community. As AAPI tennis participation has continuously grown, we’re still pushing for equal levels in funding, leadership, programming, and recognition within the sport. 

It was inspiring to hear Emmy Award-winning journalist michelleyutv moderate an enlightening Equity Talk with Vania, actor conradricamora, film producer chineseguy88, and Gold House co-founder bingchen. Then seeing 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist chloekim lead the coin toss on Arthur Ashe was a testament to the progress made towards a more equitable future for all.
