About 150 volunteers came to the Ohio Statehouse to help place the 2,977 U.S. Flags on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023. Each flag honors a life that was lost from the Sept. 11, 2001 attack.

The flags are displayed to represent where the attacks took place— The World Trade Center, The Pentagon and the open field in Shanksville, Pa.
