Dillon Brooks set a new points record (39) and gave Canada 🇨🇦 their first-ever medal🥉 in a World Cup. His team qualified for the Olympics and he was also named “Defensive Player of the fibawc “ making this World Cup a tournament to remember.

Without a doubt, Brooks wants to be the villain 🦹‍♂️ in everyone’s story, but he can also be the hero. He is the guy that you “love to hate” but also you love to watch him play and compete. In the grand narrative of sports, this “bad boy” persona reminds us that the booed villain has the power to also become the MVP. 

What does it take? Determination, persistence, hard work, dedication but above all FAITH. Brooks has faith in himself, his abilities, his teammates and his purpose. He uses the negative criticism as a fuel to become BETTER and not bitter. His confidence is a byproduct of his mindset and not necessarily of his ability by itself.

For me, Brooks is the kind of player who plays TO WIN, and you can never go wrong with that. And if there is one LESSON you can take away from a player like him is the following: 
Don’t care too much about what other people are saying about you. 
Let them think whatever they want, as long as you know yourself and you are satisfied with your effort and performance.
Never allow yourself to be defined by someone else’s opinion of you. 
Just keep moving forward. 
Remember that God has something stronger in you than the things that are trying to bring you down!

The undeniable power of believing in yourself.
