## Caption

We received a DM in regards to an eatery that was “not really a humble mom & pop spot or a local spot that deserves a bigger audience”. We always want to over communicate in terms of who we choose to feature and why, so here’s where we’re at:

As brianlee mentioned, Righteous Eats was created with the goal of platforming eateries and people that didn’t have the access or know-how to get coverage. That remains the mission, and we’ve added attribution so you know exactly where we’re finding our recommendations.

That said, as the platform has grown we’ve also highlighted eateries that are more well-known in NYC. We’ve done this whenever we’ve felt like there’s a new way to highlight them, e.g., Hooni Kim of meju.nyc breaking down the importance of jangs in Korean cuisine, or Jae Lee of nowon.usa breaking down how to budget for a restaurant in NYC.

We’ll have more details on changes to the “Righteous Eats Classic” format soon on #BuildingRighteousEats. As always, we welcome your feedback on what stories need to be told on this platform. #righteouseats #transparency
