Men’s Member-Guest at Torresdale

Lions, tigers and bears. Putting contests, parimutuels and… rubber duck races? Torresdale’s Member-Guest lived up to its circus theme with the staff putting on a great show.

Forecasted rain failed to dampen the spirits of members and guests on Thursday and Friday. The first act, Thursday, consisted of a skins game, a putting course and various skills competitions. Oh, and the annual rubber duck race. A beautiful sunset paired with a perfect sunrise on Friday paved the way for a long day of golf to begin competition. 

For the second act, the field persevered through the 36 holes fueled by the food and drink found at every corner of the golf course. To unwind from the long day of golf, a putting contest was held following play. Entertainment brought the night to a blazing close.

Late Friday night, the predicted weather made its way to the area thoroughly soaking the golf course, but the show had to go on. An army wielding squeegees took to the golf course hours before sunrise. 

Following the fifth and final round, the tournament reached its grand finale, the shootout. Still battling the elements, winners of each flight gathered on 18 tee. Two teams were left standing on the final tee - Jim Curran & Ed Craig and Ken Racowski & Ben Ohanesian. 

The duo of Racowksi-Ohanesian would go on to hoist the Diamond Cup.
