Yesterday, members of ARIDO's Board of Management, staff and the team at Shaw Contract participated in a virtual tour of the Woodland Cultural Centre woodlandculturalcentre , a former residential school site as part of the association's recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 

This was part 2 of our recognition of the day and in advancement of reconciliation.⁣
⁣
Part 1 took place during the September 18th meeting of the Board of Management where Sheila Grantham, a Métis Educator and Indigenous Pedagogy and Curriculum Consultant, held an education session on her work with Indigenous students.⁣
⁣
Part 3 will take place in the coming weeks during a sharing circle where participants will share their experience and takeaways.⁣
⁣
As ARIDO's journey towards advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility continues, it is imperative for the leadership, Board, and staff within the organization to continue their individual and collective development.⁣
⁣
As a first step towards Truth and Reconciliation, the Board and staff have committed to enhanced involvement related to the leaderships ongoing education and learning related to Canada's history with its Indigenous peoples and communities. ⁣
⁣
We are grateful to partner with Shaw Contract for the 2023 program, to bring together ARIDO and Shaw Contract representatives to experience this unique journey together in the spirit of leadership growth and advancement of EDI in the interior design sector.⁣
