COVID Chaos. More of that real motherf*cking life. 🤷🏼‍♀️😷I’ll be easing into that new year, just as I’d originally planned. In bed before midnight. And now with the added bonus of a box of tissues and double the doses of vitamin C.

If you know me well, you know I’m not at all disappointed and think the whole #newyearnewyou is totally overrated and loaded with societal expectations of change and betterment that place undo pressures on everyone. #bullshit

And yet, there’s room for it all, really. If YOU truly want to improve an area of your life, awesome! Do it for YOU. Go freaking get it! But the moment you feel you need to improve because that’s what the outside world is telling you, you get to call bullshit. And just coast into the turn of the new year, loving yourself AS YOU ARE, because you’re brilliant and beautiful. PERIODT. 

You’re just as valued, loved, and accepted on Dec. 31st as you are on Jan.1. Makes me think of those stickers or price tags on merchandise that’s marked down in price and indicates the item is being sold “as is”? Yeah … well that same item in a vintage store doesn’t need that “as is” tag. That item is chosen with the understanding of it’s built in value. It is acknowledged for it’s life well-lived and it is loved well, as is. 

Just as you should be.

You don’t *have* to level up in the new year. You are worthy. Accepted. Loved. As you are. Today. Tomorrow. Jan 1 or 31. No matter what changes you make or don’t make.

However you enter the new year, whether it’s snuggled in your bed like just another night, or ringing it in with fanfare and big goals … Go YOU! Be YOU! Because being you is being beautiful. ✨
