Day 19 – Worthiness
What if we spent less time chasing our worthiness, and more time acknowledging the brilliance of who we already are? What if we spent as much time loving ourselves, as we do loving those around us? What if we looked in the mirror and saw the things people love about us, before we saw the the things we hate?

There's no easy path to finding our worth & acknowledging it. The path to do so is laden with stories we’ve been telling ourselves for years. But it is possible. With time, effort, and honesty. Honesty to ourselves. Telling ourselves the truth, may be one of the hardest things we have to do in our entire life.

When we accept our mediocrity, our ideas of ‘not good enough to…’, then we have an excuse. Then, we don’t have to do the things we’re afraid we might fail at. Then we don’t have to take the chances or assume the risks. If we don’t try at all, then we believe we aren’t losing anything. And yet – we could be losing everything.

It takes time & intention (and for me, a whole bunch of therapy) to ‘not believe the hype’ around unworthiness. And while I haven’t perfected it yet, nor will I ever, I’ve made progress.

If this is something you struggle with too, I have one small exercise that can help the process…
-	Find a post-it note
-	Grab a sharpie
-	And write the following: I deserve the love I keep trying to give to everyone else

Write this on ten post-it notes (or more) & place them in various spots around your home. On the back door, in the silverware drawer, on your bathroom mirror, by your phone charger, on the refrigerator, at your desk, in your closet, and so on.

When you see the notes with your writing, read them to yourself, out loud at first. You feel silly? Who cares, that’s the point. Over time – you’ll start to believe it, and then laugh that you once felt silly about exclaiming your love for yourself out loud.

It's not silly, it’s necessary. And kind. And caring. These are the minimum of which we should be, to ourselves. Don’t ya think? Go on, write the notes, you DO deserve the love you keep trying to give everyone else.

It’s time to own it.
