Yesterday was a wild one. After a particularly long, hard day - one in which my anxiety was in full force, stress at an all time high, and confidence at a low - I attended an event in which I connected with so many strong, powerful, kind and badass women.
.
I didn’t feel like going - I was just not feeling like my best self. I felt small and weary. But I had a feeling it would be just the boost I needed.
.
They were offering head shots at the event, and my first thought was, ‘I should wear something sensible and professional (read: corporate)’. Then I reminded myself, that’s just not my vibe. How good can a headshot be if I don’t show up as my authentic, most comfortable self? So the black tank and choker went on. Because THAT IS WHO I AM.
.
Beauties - if you’re spending time trying to be someone you’re not, hit the pause button. Show up as YOU, that is when you are MOST beautiful. And that is who the world needs to see and hear.

Also, my girl @simplydawnb shared her beautiful story and brought many tears to the room. Reminding all of us that our story, every story, deserves to be told and heard.
.
Lastly, we went around the room and gave the person next to us a compliment. Often times, the woman standing next to you, was one you didn’t know. The woman who was next to me, turned to me and said, “I love your eyes. I see strength in them”. She doesn’t know me, but she saw me. She saw something in me. And she spoke it. And did so on a day I really, really needed to hear it.
