California Dreamin'. 🏝
There's no place my wild heart and fiery soul feel more at home, than on the ocean's edge.
.
This picture was taken during the early months of an unexpected and major transition in my life, in April of 2016. There are so many feels I have when I look at this girl, staring into the horizon. She made a point that day, to begin the process of intentionally and consciously letting go.
.
To let go of the things holding her back. The old stories. The people who didn't serve her. The expectations that were not to be.
.
It's a lifelong process, really. And the sooner we realize that, the earlier we will find peace.
.
I'm a work in progress. I'm still learning to let go. But the feeling of freedom and peace is incredible when you realize you've made strides in letting go of the old stories that no longer serve you.
.
I've also discovered that letting go and wholly loving yourself are intertwined. The more you love yourself, the more you can let go. And the more you let go, the more room you have to love yourself.
.
So grateful for the time seaside and the incredible reflection it provided. That day truly changed my life. Especially because I spent it with a beautiful friend who was also working on letting go.
.
Tomorrow I'll share the action we took that day, to begin the process of letting go.
.
But for now ... I must go and try to figure out a way to get back to Cali and this dear friend. Her and I have more work to do in the beauty of becoming.
