Gratitude - Day 2
It's been a long road to where I am today. Many struggles, much heartbreak, lots of time in the valley.
.
So many years of believing I wasn't worthy, enough, or seen. Wasted moments of worrying about what other people thought of me, if they approved and did I measure up?
.
Training, therapy, and so much self work has brought me to a place in which I feel really grounded and comfortable in who I am. I'm far less concerned about whether people approve how I live my life, what I wear, what I share, how I write, the way I parent, and how I love.
.
I have one life to live. Why spend it living the way other people want me to? There will be many times that people will snicker, shake their heads, wonder why I'm doing what I'm doing. That's okay. They don't have to understand.
.
There will also be moments I'll struggle to stay true to myself. Because it's human nature to doubt. While I'm more confident than I've ever been, I'm not bullet proof. I'm not infallible. I have lots of feels. There will be times my confidence is shaken. But the difference now, is that my feet are firmly rooted and planted in self love. And my faith is strong that I'll always make it back to myself.

I took this picture, because I liked what I saw, when I looked in the mirror. Do you know how long it took before I could truly look in the mirror and like what I saw? Too. Damn. Long. So I took a picture to capture that moment. To remind me that it's possible to really, truly love yourself.

I'm so thankful to be on this journey of self love and the discovery of my true and authentic self. Something changes forever in your heart when you live your life in grace and self acceptance. So grateful. 💖
