Ever wondered whether you're assymmetric in the saddle? Take a look at your boots, they could give you the answer! 🤓🦄 #Repost @performance.refinery

Riders ~ Where are your feet at!??? Here’s a very interesting case study showing over pronation of the riders left foot (the right boot was neutral) from our recent Canberra Clinic with @focused_riding
➖
🐴 NOTE: We can attribute this lower extremity dysfunction to being caused in the saddle as when we look at the sole of the boot at the heel, it remains unworn to the inside!
➖
A solid base of support is especially important both when riding & off the horse. Our feet, secondary to our pelvis, form a significant portion of your base of support whilst in the saddle. In a jump rider they become part of your intrinsic balance mechanisms coupled against the stirrup iron, whereas in the dressage rider they play a vital component in functional leg alignment.
➖
When the ankles are well aligned the ankle joint will be able to flex in a neutral alignment, allowing your heel to deepen without jamming your foot forward or down against the stirrup iron. This also allows for a riders ability to transfer their weight distribution across the forefoot wherever they need it to proportionately be at any given moment in time.
➖
Take a look at your boots and what do they say about your weight transfer distribution??? Are you centrally balanced, Pronated with weight transfer on the inside of your foot OR Supinated with weight transfer on the outside of your feet??? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
