Meet Lady River! 

Her stats are now 3 starts for a win and 2 x thirds, plus winning 2 of her 3 trials. 

Lady River was deemed ‘unsaleable’ by both Magic Millions Agents, Inglis Agents and many ‘professionals in the industry’ when she was a yearling... “you wouldn’t get $1,000 for her”was often the comment. 

Keeping in mind, she is offset in the knees with significant miss alignment through the fetlock and knees...normally a big ‘no no’…So we are Gundy Park kept her!

Matty Bates of Bates Equestrian did a sensational job breaking her in and pre training her, he took his time and nurtured her through the process, always being cautious not to put too much pressure on her joints too early. 

Lady River, now affectionately known as ‘Poppy’ is a big girl, standing 16.3hh with solid chest and hindquarters. 

We did conditioning programs with her before pretraining and during longer spells to maintain a level of fitness, strength and most importantly, a solid foundation ensuring good bone density and cell integrity throughout her muscles and ligaments. 

Being such a big girl, it was important to develop her natural balance and core strength and the ECB Treadmill was an enormous contributing factor to her development. 

Poppy has also been managed with corrective shoes by Jake Watts and nutritionally supported by Dr Caroline Foote to ensure her diet maximised her development. 

Combine all of the above with the expert skill, knowledge and devotion Scott and Lucy Singleton, and their team have for their horses and you produce these sort of results.
