It’s been almost two months since the killing of George Floyd. Are we still in this? ⁣⁣

We’re with you now, Portland. ⁣⁣

We’re still with you, @blklivesmatter. ⁣⁣
We’re still with you and will fight for you, #BreonnaTaylor. And #MikeRamos. And #ElijahMcClain. And so, so many more.⁣⁣

We’re still doing the work, Black friends.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We’re still educating ourselves about ALL oppression, injustice, inequality of ALL persons and groups.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We’re still donating. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We’re still having hard conversations.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We’re still addressing our white privilege, and committing ourselves daily to lasting systemic change. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Or...are we? ⁣⁣
Are you? ⁣⁣
Am I? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Who is holding us accountable now?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Did we ask for and submit ourselves to accountability? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Did we put systems in place so that these issues have no option but to be front & center of our lives moving forward? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Or have we “gone back to normal” with the black square getting further from our top 9 with our friends thinking we’re somehow more “woke” now?⁣⁣

Let’s continue asking ourselves these questions, and all the ones we were reckoning with when we held our signs and marched our marches over a month ago. We committed to this being a movement, not a moment. We committed to the long-haul.⁣⁣

Black Lives Matter. ⁣⁣
Since the beginning of time.⁣⁣
Two months ago. ⁣⁣
