Q: What will you miss most about Vanderbilt?
A: The atmosphere, the community. We go through so many things together. We go to class together, we struggle together. We also have fun, be social, and explore the city together. I’m going to miss this experience of feeling a sense of community, and our interconnectedness from living and studying together in the same space.

Q: What do you love most about VU outside the classroom?
A: I like the experience Vanderbilt is trying to create. I love how they’re aware of the multiple aspects of the experience and trying to improve the residential experience. They’re trying to empower students to succeed academically, and create a safe space for people to be free with their religion, beliefs, and identity. I really admire their effort to perfect the experience and I appreciate the student body taking an active role in shaping this culture.

Q: What made you choose your major?
A: I was originally a physics and math major, and I loved it. The reason why I switched to Communication of Science is because it’s a very nice blend of qualitative and quantitative thinking. The essence of this major is to study not only math, engineering, and all these abstract ideas that give people headaches, but also the way we talk about them, interpret them, write about them in a sense that is fun and makes sense for people. So it’s a really great combination of science and communication, writing, and reading.

Q: How else are you involved on campus?
A: I am involved in various organizations like VUcept, Undergraduate Honor Council, Dore 4 a Day, and I helped to organize Vandy Hacks as well.

Q: If you could say something to the Instagram followers, what would it be?
A: Vanderbilt is not perfect, and that’s why we’re all here, we can all contribute. Tomorrow will always be better than yesterday, and Vanderbilt is special because of us.
