Q: What made you choose VU?⁣⁣
A: Financial aid was definitely a large part of it, but I was also a MOSAIC student, part of a minority recruitment organization on campus. I came here during spring break of my senior year in high school, and that’s where I met my freshman roommate, who is still my roommate. I met a lot of cool people there, had some great conversations, and the community drew me here.⁣⁣

Q: What do you love most about VU?⁣⁣
A: I love how I can balance everything. I’m taking very interesting classes that I care about, such as Cognitive Psychology and Human Sexuality. And then I also get to dance and do a lot of different things I didn’t get to in high school. I’m also training to be a Peer Guide, and am interested in exploring mental health on campus. It’s just this really nice balance of academics, fun, mental health, friends. It’s a very well rounded campus, and it’s great to be a part of that.⁣⁣

Q: What do you love most outside of the classroom?⁣⁣
A: The dance group I’m a part of, VIDA, Vanderbilt’s premiere Latin dance group on campus. It’s what got me out of my shell as a freshman, and now I have the opportunity to serve as president. I get to really listen to everyone and choose a good direction for VIDA to go in. It’s really nice to serve such a great org with great people and then have fun dancing.⁣ ⁣

Q: If you could say something to the Instagram followers, what would it be?⁣⁣
A: As a pre-med student, I love being career-driven, but something I’ve been working on is exploring all that campus has to offer. You know, going to the clinics, going to performances and talks, that’s what’s really been integral to building my character as a student here. I encourage people to check out the posters on Rand Wall, talk to someone about what they’re doing. Also, academics is important, but you’re going to remember people more than your grades - make sure you’re spending time with the people that really matter around you.⁣⁣
