The Waffle Shop, which is located downtown on College Avenue, allegedly caught fire on Tuesday night.

According to Assistant Chief Schreiner of the Centre Region Fire Protection and Alpha Fire Company, there was “heavy smoke” and “fire at the rear of the building inside.”

Calls about the fire were received around 8:38 p.m. and police and firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after and “extinguished the fire immediately,” police at the scene said.
