Q. 🎨 What is your SPARK? As in, what makes you happy, motivated, or excited? What makes you, you?

A. My SPARK, what truly ignites my passion and brings out the best in me, boils down to three awesome things: family, crafting, and traveling. My family is everything. Their love and encouragement keep me going, making me want to be the best I can be. Then there’s my creative playground and small business, MarialesClayBoutique. Crafting unique jewelry from clay is my therapy. It lets me express myself and pour my heart into something beautiful. And of course, there’s traveling. There’s nothing like exploring new places, cultures, and taking in new experiences. It’s like a never-ending adventure, always teaching me something and keeping my curiosity alive. These three things — family, creativity, and exploring the world — are the ingredients that make up the special recipe of who I am. They’re what keep me excited, motivated, and happy every day.

Q. 🤕 What is the silliest way you’ve injured yourself?

A. When I was five, I was attached to my mother’s hip (and admittedly still am). One day, back in our home country of Dominican Republic, she was going to leave me home while she went to the grocery store to grab something quickly. I was distracted playing outside, so she tried to sneak out quietly. I heard the front gate close and saw that she was on the other side. At that moment, I ran so fast to catch up with her that I tripped over some outdoor rocking chairs and landed face-first on one of the big planters made out of cement. You can imagine what happened next, right? Yup, I cut up the right side of my mouth and had to be taken to the ER to get stitches. I can’t remember how many I got, but there were a lot! After that, I learned my lesson.
