💦I’m grateful for my professional family at aapaonline.  I started my leadership journey with AAPA in 2016 and have been part of the conference planning committee since 2016. For the last two years, I’ve been Co-Chairing the sessions committee. Grateful to be part of planning our 50th-year conference.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
💦This year, our aim for the conference and thinking about the next 50 years has been intentionally focused on proposals that highlight specific issues challenging our communities in the Asian diaspora. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
💦We were interested in submissions that focused on collaborative projects, interdisciplinary scholarships, multicultural perspectives, cross-cultural psychology, and other works that further social justice movements.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
💦We also prioritized proposals that focused on Neurodiversity and Child and Family psychology. This is something new introduced in our convention that has not happened before.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
💦 Lastly, the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts; as AAPA has many divisions, we introduced a new initiative of prioritizing proposals through inter-division collaboration to further enhance cross-racial ethnic solidarity towards being better accomplices ✊🏽 . ⁣⁣⁣
