DePaul University standout, Zion Cruz, has signed with Detroit (MI) based Helium Sports & Entertainment Marketing Inc. for NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) Representation. The Sophomore guard, who appeared in 27 contests with one start as a “True Freshman” scored a total of 64 points with 29 rebounds while shooting 25-of-75 (.333). Cruz had a career-high performance against St. John's (12/7) where he scored 14 points off the bench on 6-of-12 shooting. He grabbed a personal-best four rebounds in his first career start at Duquesne (12/14) and also totaled double-digit scoring at #10 Marquette (2/25) on 4-of-6 shooting in addition to four rebounds. 
The former Four Star recruit played his senior season at Donda Academy in Simi Valley, Calif., where he averaged 12.8 points per game. The New Jersey native was ranked No. 37 by 247Sports, No. 49 by Rivals.com, and No. 72 by ESPN overall.  Among shooting guards in the 2022 class, Cruz ranked second nationally by 247Sports.com and was a consensus top-15. Before playing at Donda Academy, Cruz averaged 16.7 points per game at The Patrick School in 2020-21. He averaged 20.5 points per game in 2019-20 at Hudson (N.J.) Catholic. Cruz played for the PSA Cardinals on the EYBL circuit, averaging 10.6 points per game during the summer of 2021.
