~*LEADVILLE UPDATE*~

I always believed I could do anything, & now I know I can do anything.
.
100 mile Bravey.
that was the most painful & the most beautiful. thanks to help from my incredible pacer mikey.mitch, the ltraceseries team and volunteers + all the kind people i met along the way, my support crew & my watch and team corosglobal. i am so grateful to have been included in this legendary tradition.

i do feel at home in ultra. i felt myself out there. I ran the first 50 miles in just over ten hrs [close to the front & prob 2 fast for how little experience i have w 14,000 ft of climbing & zero proper training] — the university of ultra doesn’t stop there, i way way over ingested salt pills / did not drink enough plain water. i realized i had severe dehydration when i couldn’t pee & kept seeking out water from creeks— my body felt wild but Mikey said i was going to finish no matter what because he is a great pacer & a wonderful friend - we swapped salt for plain water & good ol mashed potatoes. i walked most of the last 40 miles into & through the night which you can see reflected in my watch data <welcome to ultra!!!!> & i now understand what it really means to adapt & *keep moving* however u can, which is exactly how i will continue to approach my life. i understood the difference between good & bad pain. i just kept moving. Mikey & i talked all night under the stars about everything under the sun. i feel 100% healthy, though understandably sore. the most beautiful thing happened as i ascended hope pass: the call me by your name song came into my ears & i saw in the woods my mom & a little me sitting on a log by a creek, playing. typically, my mom only comes out at night & only alone but this was different. i am still unsure if an experience like this makes me cry because i feel like i got something i never had or if it’s grief about something i never had. can the imagination heal as powerfully as real life? was it imagination that got me through this race.
