The votes are in!  After careful consideration and deliberation, our hybrid homeschool Children's House students voted to adopt a sea turtle from the "Adopt an Animal" program at the Houston Zoo.  We received a special package from the Houston Zoo and it contained bracelets and adoption certificates for each child, along with a stuffed animal sea turtle for the class.  The big question has been, what do we name it?  A brainstorming session occurred at circle time and then another vote.  Meet "Chocolate"! Chocolate has been spending her days in our library, sitting with the children while they are looking at a book. They are so excited to see a real sea turtle while we are on our field trip to the zoo!
